I had a few friends over for dinner on Christmas day. The previous day, while I was wandering around my neighbourhood, I found the local christmas tree place practically giving away trees, so of course I was glad to a 6′ tree for $20.
I bring it home and put up the ornaments and lights I acquired (either given to me or at a ridiculous discount in post-christmas sales). Unfortunately, I have yet to acquire an angel, so I put up the only thing that I had that could go at the top of the tree.
That’s right: behold the power of tux. (I had to use the scarf – in the spirit of the holidays, of course.)
Other ornaments:
I spent all of Sunday on my knees in my back yard, weeding. I only stopped (about 5 hours later) when the green bin was all full up. There’s still a patch that needs to be weeded. And I’m sure that by the time I get around to it next week, there will be another full green bin.
I had my camera with me, so I managed to get a few pictures of the birds that hang about in my back yard. My cats were very disappointed that I did not stalk the birds and insisted on shooing them away when I saw the cats stalking them.
But then they forgave me when we went back in the house: they happen to love the tree.
